Sleepy Hollow Nut Brown
It’s the time of year to start savoring the potion of your choice to warm the bones and soothe the soul. And one can’t think of anything better than the McMenamins classic seasonal brew, Sleepy Hollow Nut Brown. This longtime favorite has a chestnut color and medium body that will cast an otherworldly spell over you. The complex malt character, well balanced with Chinook and US Golding hops, will have you walking in a continual reverie. Legend has it that Ichabod Crane downed a few Nut Brown Ales listening to local ghost tales and scary legends at the Van Tassel merry-making party before his fateful trip home. Be watchful and clear-headed on your way home lest you begin to grow fanciful, see shapes and shadows in the night and hear things in the howling wind. It may just be your imagination running away with you or it very well may be the Headless Horseman on his fire-breathing black stallion following you!

The Shadow of the Dark is a complex and malty Belgian Strong Ale. The deep amber-coppery hue starts you off with estery and fruity aromas. The malt complexity then drives you home with hints of plum and raisin. A low level of hops allows the malt body to really come out of the shadows and give your tongue something to shine about! A slight sweet finish keeps you smacking your lips and wondering how long you have to wait for another trip to this wonderful quaff. Come out of the shadows and let your taste buds see the light!

Front Line ESB
Take a step to the front of the line with this ESB. Made with the English style of ESBs in mind, this drink has a biscuit and toasty malt flavor. There is a mellow hop flavor that is more earthy than floral. A mild hop bitterness resides on the tongue for just a bit to allow the full hop flavor to be remembered. A nice dry finish which is typical in English style beers completes your ESB experience!

Star Trip IPA
Take a trip to the stars with this IPA! Starting off with a tropical fruit like aroma you then trek to a mellow malt body. Journey your way again with some citrus and herbal hop flavor. The Galaxy hops are showcased across the board on this vessel. The last voyage is the lingering bitter that reminds your taste buds of floral pines. This is a very mellow yet flavorful IPA that begs you to keep going on your travels with a fresh pint in hand!

High Top Double IPA
Take a trip to the top with this double IPA. Brewed with some excellent malt varieties to showcase a mellow malt flavor yet chewy and flavorful. Slight bread and grain complexities relax on the tip of your tongue. Bold hop flavors then rise up to the top! Forms of grapefruit and lemon tones greet the nose. Floral and herbal flavors then continue through the drink. This experience ends with a nice lingering bitterness of herbal spiciness! Take a trip to the Tip Top and enjoy!!

Jester’s Pale Ale
The Jester is someone not to fool with. At least not when it comes to his beer! This mellow pale ale with tropical aromas and a fruity disposition really takes center stage. A very mellow malt balance allows the beer to laugh and dance on your palate. A very easy and fanciful hops flavor ends this show with and applause like no other. Ask for an encore or a 2nd showing of the Jester’s Pale!!

Wildflower Wheat
This American Wheat ale has all the basics for a great tasting wheat beer. Clean crisp body and a mellow hop flavor with a touch of malt chewiness. To put a unique twist on this beer we added Wild Chamomile flowers to enhance the flowery aromatics and herbal flavor. This enhances the overall mellow sensation that a wheat beer can be about. A wonderful combination to a sipping wheat beer!!

Rum Around Double Brown
The Parson Brown has become a Winter time standard at the OSF McMenamins the last 5 years. Yet this year we decided to enhance the batch a little more. What did we enhance it with? More malts, more hops, more flavor and more goodness! The mellow toffee malt flavors combine well with a light roast character. More hops, especially of the floral varietal, bring on a nice roundness to the beer. Earthy and floral aromas give in to a taste of piney hops that combines a slight bitter and sweet flavor. Higher in alcohol than most other brown ales gives Parson’s Double Brown a slight warmth at the back of your drink and warms your soul when shared with good friends. And for an added benefit to this full flavored drink we aged some in our Three Rocks Rum barrel. A sweet woody aroma gives way to an oak dry finish! Run around with the easy sweet drink that is the Rum Around Brown!

Grandma’s Oatmeal Porter
If your grandma was anything like my grandma she could cook up a storm! Usually all from scratch too! One of my favorite baked goods my grandma made was oatmeal cookies with chocolate chips! This Porter is a tribute to the memory that is those cookies. Made with dark crystal malts to give a hint of chocolate and raisin. A plethora of rolled oats were also added for a chewy mouth feel as well as a smooth, melt in your mouth concession. Take a lingering drink of this porter and memories of fresh baked cookies may just take over. Cheers to Grandmas everywhere!!

Parson Brown

As the weather changes from brisk to chilly to downright freezing, the Old St Francis School Brewery believes the beer you drink should reflect these changes. The Parson Brown is a bigger version of the American brown ale style that lets you enjoy the Wonderland that winter can be. Take a walk down the lane with sleigh bells ringing. Enjoy the glistening snow with the new bird singing a love song. Build a snow man in the meadow and pretend he is Parson Brown. Conspire by the fire the dreams you will make knowing that you’re with loved ones in a Winter Wonderland! If this time of year resonates with you, the wonder which is winter, grab a pint of Parson Brown and stroll around savoring the experience of winter. Full malt flavors with touches of toffee and nuts (chestnuts on an open fire perhaps?) will please the palate. Yet unlike most brown ales the Parson has a hoppier kick. Floral hop flavor combine with earthy, mild aromas that leave a slight bitterness that dissipates quickly on the tongue as the pleasing malts come back for more. A fantastic pint of ale to warm your insides on a frigid winter’s day! It makes you even warmer when a pint is shared with a friend or loved one! Cheers!

Hammerhead
A classic Northwest pale ale. This rich chestnut colored gem is a model of harmony between hops and malted barley. Hammerhead's signature Cascade hop nose and intense hopped flavor blend nicely with the caramel tones from the crystal malt.

Ruby AleRuby
One of our most popular standards, we still make Ruby with the same aims we had when brewing the first batch back in March 1986: To create an ale light, crisp and refreshingly fruity. Great Western Premium 2-row and 42 pounds of Oregon-grown and processed raspberry puree is used to craft every colorful batch.

Terminator Stout
Black as the darkest night, rich as the most decadent dessert, Terminator is for the true stout lover. This is a full bodied and flavor packed ale which draws its robust complexity from kiln-baked specialty grains. Look for a wide array of toasted, chocolate, nutty and coffee-like flavors in every pint! The devoted swear by it, and it remains one of our top selling ales year after year.

Locally grown apples are juiced and fermented into a light, crisp and refreshing hard cider.

Edgefield Hard Ginger Perry
Made from fermented pears, our perry is off-dry, with a smidge of fresh ginger added. It is crisp and refreshing, and pairs well with Asian-inspired dishes.
