Ale & Cider On Tap
Black Widow Porter
Originally created at the Thompson Brewery over 20 years ago on October 15, 1991 and made once a year by all Thompson Brewers to come after that, Black Widow has become an expected and welcome Halloween treat at the Thompson Public House in Salem. Black Widow’s web envelops the entire company every year now. Each deep-black goblet of Black Widow is packed full of the robust notes afforded by generous amounts of black and roast malts and further spirited with ethereal wisps of caramel and licorice. Both substantial and sublime, this elixir is sure to slake the most fiendish of thirsts. Open up a creaking pub door, find a seat with friends and family and nourish your inner ghoul with a brew steeped in tradition and mystery. A good howl at the Cheshire moon couldn’t hurt, either.
Malts: British Pale Malt, Munich, Flaked Barley, Wheat, 135/165 Crystal, Black, Roast
Hops: Horizon Additional Ingredient: Licorice Root
OG: 1.074 TG: 1.017 ABV: 7.35 IBU: 40 SRM: 38
Clear Sky IPA
Just because the sun is making fewer appearances now a days, doesn’t mean we can’t drink beer like it’s still shining! The Clear Sky IPA is the perfect beer for just that. Pilsner malt gives this IPA its bright, crisp, golden straw color. Flaked barley is added for body and head retention. For hops, the Clear Sky is featuring the Simcoe hop. 3 pounds in the flavor and a ealthy 7 pound dose was added at the end of the boil to give it a pungent, citrusy aroma.
Malts: Pilsner, Flaked Barley
Hops: Nugget, Centennial and Simcoe
OG: 1.058 TG: 1.010 ABV: 6.19 IBU: 92 SRM: 3
Buzz Words: Light color, Crisp, Simcoe
A light, crisp and refreshingly fruity ale made with boysenberries. Purple Haze is very lightly hopped to allow the berry flavor to shine. Slightly more tart and fuller bodied than our Ruby recipe, this is a pub favorite.
Malts: Premium Two Row Boysenberries
OG: 1.040 TG: 1.007 ABV: 4.26 IBU: 4 SRM: 3
Stormy Sky IPA (On Nitro)
This is an IPA quite opposite of what you would typically see at Oak Hills. It’s Darker in color and more earthy and spicy in hop flavor. Being drawn out of the nitro tap, gives it a soft, velvety mouth feel. With our weather starting to turn towards winter, I wanted an IPA to represent the season. The Stormy Sky is a much more malt driven beer than the dryer, more summer like Clear Sky IPA. Weather you embrace the winter with Stormy Sky, or pretend its still summer with the Clear Sky, raise a glass of IPA!!
Malts: Premium Two-Row, Munich, Crystal 120, Chocolate
Hops: Centennial, Crystal, and Simcoe
OG: 1.060 TG: 1.010 ABV: 6.45 IBU: 83 SRM: 10
Dream Girl Wheat
The Dream girl wheat will put a smile on your face rain or shine. Brewed with Vienna and wheat malt, this American style wheat ale is sure to quench your summer thirst. Brewed with bitter orange peel and coriander, the Dream Girls has just the right amount of spice and flavor. Pairs wonderfully with any pub menu but is also unique enough to stand alone.
Malts: Premium Two-Row, Vienna, Wheat and Crystal 40L
Hops: Nugget, Brewers Gold
OG: 1.048 TG: 1.008 ABV: 4.9 IBU: 25 SRM: 3
Spontaneous Generation Berliner Weisse
In the middle ages, thinkers theorized that life- if given the proper conditions- could spring up from lifeless matter ‘spontaneously.’ For this beer, we’ve recreated the magic of spontaneous generation by storing our wort in the brew kettle over night and adding lactobacillus to sour the liquid. From the lifeless wort, a tart, tasty, light Summer wheat has sprung forth with centuries of brewing tradition behind it.
OG: 1.031 TG: 1.004 ABV: 3.48
Malts: Heidelberg, Pale Wheat, and Acidulated
This McMenamins classic has taken on a transformation out here on the Westside. This is a stronger more full flavored interpretation of the original. This version is more of an English style Pale. The Munich and Vienna malt provide a slightly toasted malt character, while the Willamette and Sterling hops add spice and floral qualities. This beer finishes smooth with just a touch of sweetness.
Malts: Two Row, Munich, Vienna
Hops: Chinook, Willamette, Sterling
OG: 1.055 TG: 1.010 ABV: 5.8 IBU: 39 SRM: 5
Perennial Pale Ale
The Perennial Pale ale is a flavor and aroma forward beer, without the bitterness of an IPA. Crystal 75 malt was used to give this ale is brick color. 5 pounds of meridian hop pellets and one pound of Falconer’s Flight pellets went straight into the fermenter to give the beer its ample aroma and hop flavor.
Malts: Premium Two-Row, C-75
Hops: Nugget, Cascade, Meridian, Falconers Flight
OG: 1.057 TG: 1.010 ABV: 6.0 IBU: 63 SRM: 8
A classic Northwest pale ale and McMenamins top selling beer. This rich chestnut colored gem is a model of harmony between hops and malted barley. Hammerhead's signature Cascade hop nose and intense hopped flavor blend nicely with the caramel tones from the crystal malt. This beer has a vocal following.
ABV: 5.93% IBU: 44 SRM: 11
Black as the darkest night, rich as the most decadent dessert, Terminator is for the true stout lover. This is a full bodied and flavor packed ale which draws its robust complexity from kiln-baked specialty grains. Look for a wide array of toasted, chocolate, nutty and coffee-like flavors in every pint! The devoted swear by it, and it remains one of our top selling ales year after year.
ABV: 6.45% IBU: 30 SRM: 35
One of our most popular standards, we still make Ruby with the same aims we had when brewing the first batch back in March 1986: create an ale light, crisp and refreshingly fruity. Great Western Premium 2-row and 42 pounds of Oregon-grown and processed raspberry puree is used to craft every colorful batch. Simple but delicious. the original!
