Brewer: Gary Nance
Kris Kringle is a hearty and robust ale with a big and bold malt complexity as well as an intense and flavorful hop profile. This “winter warmer” highlights the rich, toasty, aromatic and chocolaty malt flavors as its very sturdy foundation. Generous amounts of four different hop varieties were added in five different additions, which delivers a magnificent and massive hop assault. McMenamins brewers hope you enjoy this years’ version of our old Holiday favorite, Kris Kringle.

Black Widow Porter
Black Widow has become an expected and welcome Halloween treat at the Thompson Public House in Salem. Black Widow’s web envelops the entire company every year now. Each deep-black goblet of Black Widow is packed full of the robust notes afforded by generous amounts of black and roast malts and further spirited with ethereal wisps of caramel and licorice. Both substantial and sublime, this elixir is sure to slake the most fiendish of thirsts. Open up a creaking pub door, find a seat with friends and family and nourish your inner ghoul with a brew steeped in tradition and mystery. A good howl at the Cheshire moon couldn’t hurt, either.

On Nitro Tap:
This is a semi-sweet stout with enough balance to drink all day long. It’s made with de-husked wheat that was then roasted that gives this beer a roasted and robust flavor without an astringent twang. This beer is dedicated to pets and the love and friendship they give and receive. John and Paul said it best “In the end the love you take is equal to the love you make”. Whether your dog’s name is Ellie, Chance, or Cinder, pick up a pint and toast your favorite companion.
ABV: 5.29 IBU: 17 OG: 1.058
Buzz Words: Roasty, Bold, and Grateful
Benny’s Pale Ale- This is an American IPA. The golden color comes from very small additions of specialty malts. The hops lend the spicy and piney aroma. This is the perfect brew for on the way to or returning from Reser Stadium. As you might surmise this beer is named after our fearless mascot, Benny. Go Beavs!
ABV: 6.19 IBU: 95 OG: 1.059
Buzz Words: Bitter, Spicy, and Hoppy
This is a classic American Wheat ale, yet not as yeasty as the more common Hefewiezen. A barley-to-wheat ratio of 60/40 makes this beer a challenge to brew. Gluten makes wheat great for bread, however difficult to lauter.
ABV: 4.15 IBU: 12 OG: 1.040
Buzz Words: Refreshing, golden, malty
This a strong full bodied and full flavored ale. This beer is first wort hopped and with multiple adds throughout the boil it has ample bitterness and flavor. The Crystal and Roasted malts sweetness balance the hop bitterness. A stone Maul was a tool the early inhabitants of the west coast used in everything from food production to house building. ABV: 7.25 IBU: 100+ OG: 1.075
Buzz Words: Strong, Hoppy, and Full bodied
Bagdad Ale is a benchmark beer for McMenamins. Inspired by the Pilsner style, our Bagdad Ale is one for the lager lovers. It’s fine hop aroma and quick, light finish makes this a good ale for hot weather. It has become a favorite at McMenamins’ Bagdad Theater in Portland.

Sleepy Hollow Nut Brown
Time has slipped by again and we are confronted with a myriad of changes in the season of autumn. It’s the time of year to start savoring the potion of your choice to warm the bones and soothe the soul. And one can’t think of anything better than the McMenamins classic seasonal brew, Sleepy Hollow Nut Brown. This longtime favorite has a chestnut color and medium body that will cast an otherworldly spell over you. The complex malt character, well balanced with Chinook and US Golding hops, will have you walking in a continual reverie. Legend has it that Ichabod Crane downed a few Nut Brown Ales listening to local ghost tales and scary legends at the Van Tassel merry-making party before his fateful trip home. Be watchful and clear-headed on your way home lest you begin to grow fanciful, see shapes and shadows in the night and hear things in the howling wind. It may just be your imagination running away with you or it very well may be the Headless Horseman on his fire-breathing black stallion following you!
ABV: 5.03 IBU: 16 OG: 1.050
Buzz Words: Well-balanced, nutty, fanciful
A classic Northwest pale ale, this rich chestnut colored gem is a model of harmony between hops and malted barley. Hammerhead's signature Cascade hop nose and intense hopped flavor blend nicely with the caramel tones from the crystal malt. This beer has a vocal following. To run out is an unforgivable sin.
ABV: 5.93 IBU: 44 OG: 1.056

Black as the darkest night, rich as the most decadent dessert, Terminator is for the true stout lover. This is a full bodied and flavor packed ale which draws its robust complexity from kiln-baked specialty grains. Look for a wide array of toasted, chocolate, nutty and coffee-like flavors in every pint! The devoted swear by it, and it remains one of our top selling ales year after year.

One of our most popular standards, we still make Ruby with the same aims we had when brewing the first batch back in March 1986: To create an ale light, crisp and refreshingly fruity. Great Western Premium 2-row and 42 pounds of Oregon-grown and processed raspberry puree is used to craft every colorful batch. Simple but delicious. Taste the original!
