Ales On Tap
Sleepy Hollow Nut Brown
Time has slipped by again and we are confronted with a myriad of changes in the season of autumn. It’s the time of year to start savoring the potion of your choice to warm the bones and soothe the soul. And one can’t think of anything better than the McMenamins classic seasonal brew, Sleepy Hollow Nut Brown. This longtime favorite has a chestnut color and medium body that will cast an otherworldly spell over you. The complex malt character, well balanced with Chinook and US Golding hops, will have you walking in a continual reverie. Legend has it that Ichabod Crane downed a few Nut Brown Ales listening to local ghost tales and scary legends at the Van Tassel merry-making party before his fateful trip home. Be watchful and clear-headed on your way home lest you begin to grow fanciful, see shapes and shadows in the night and hear things in the howling wind. It may just be your imagination running away with you or it very well may be the Headless Horseman on his fire-breathing black stallion following you!

Thundercone Fresh Hop Ale
Fresh (or wet) Cascade hops were frantically delivered straight from the hop fields to every McMenamins Brewery and each batch of “Thundercone Fresh Hop Ale” was brewed within hours of the hops being picked off of the vine. The resulting beer is an absolute fresh hop showcase. This beer starts with a smooth foundation and just a slight maltiness. The real star of this show is the fresh Cascade hops used for both flavoring and aroma. Five pounds of fresh Cascades per barrel were added in three different additions in every batch. These fresh Cascades overwhelm “Thundercone Fresh Hop Ale” with an earthy, raw hop decadence that can only come from fresh hops. It is a greener and more unadulterated flavor and aroma than comes from dried hops. The citrusy, flowery and grapefruit notes usually associated with Cascade hops are still present but with an amazing fresh hop funkiness added into the mix. This beer is so refreshing and hop-filled that you may think you are dreaming but “Thundercone Fresh Hop Ale” is in reality a short lived dream come true.

Irish Stout (nitro)
This is our Halfway to Saint Patrick’s Day Seasonal and will pour exclusively on our ‘Nitro’ taps for the occassion. McMenamins Irish Stout is our interpretation of the internationally renowned beer style that originated in Ireland. McMenamins Irish Stout is made as traditionally as possible with our own little twist. It is a very dark, ebony-colored stout with a thick, creamy and long-lasting head. The flavor is a fantastic fusion of coffee-like roasted barley bitterness and semi-sweet chocolate. A moderate hop bitterness balances pleasingly with this hearty backbone, while tiny nitrogen bubbles enhance the sensation on your taste buds with a smooth, silky creaminess. One sip will have your head in the Emerald Isle clouds. A touch of the Irish, the blessings of St. Patrick and a pint of McMenamins Irish Stout to you!

Evil Shenanigans Porter (nitro)
Up to no good? Yeah us either. It’s time to have an appropriate style for such tomfoolery. Here’s porter that is deceptively sweet with a great malt character from the Marris Otter and hop notes of an earthy, spicy quality from a last minute punch of Delta hops. We even had the audacity to substitute Midnight Wheat malt for the more commonly used Black malts. No sir, I’m in no mood for rules and guidelines. Defiance is in the air.
Malts: Marris Otter malt, Crystal 75L, Midnight Wheat malt, Rolled Oats, and Chocolate malt
Hops: Galena, Cascade, Delta
OG: 1.055 TG: 1.010 ABV: 5.80% IBU: 31 SRM: 25
A light, crisp, and refreshingly fruity ale. Slighty more tart and fuller bodied than our ruby recipe, this is a pub favorite. Made with boysenberries instead of the raspberry puree.

Sandy Shores IPA
We’re going to hold on to this wonderful summer season as long as we can. If anyone tells you the season is ending or gone and you need to get over it then you can just leave them behind. This is your time, and it calls for an excellent IPA. Enjoy a grapefruit blast, hint of Evergreen, and complimentary citrus aroma as your mouth is awash in a torrent of refined bitterness touched with just a slight sweetness from the malts. It’s an endless summer kind of beer.

A fresh take on a McMenamin’s classic, the Nebraska Bitter, the Idaho Bitter still practices hop modesty and light color. While Oregon is responsible for a vast majority of American hop varieties we went with Galena hops created in Idaho. A wonderfully subtle bittering hop with a nuanced flavor and aroma contribution it serves its state of origin well in this crisp ale. We also threw in a little Pilsen malt to keep it light and refreshing, and you’re probably happy to know we resisted the urge to use some Idaho russet potatoes.

A classic Northwest pale ale and McMenamins top selling beer. This rich chestnut colored gem is a model of harmony between hops and malted barley. Hammerhead's signature Cascade hop nose and intense hopped flavor blend nicely with the caramel tones from the crystal malt. This beer has a vocal following. To run out is an unforgivable sin.

Black as the darkest night, rich as the most decadent dessert, Terminator is for the true stout lover. This is a full bodied and flavor packed ale which draws its robust complexity from kiln-baked specialty grains. Look for a wide array of toasted, chocolate, nutty and coffee-like flavors in every pint! The devoted swear by it, and it remains one of our top selling ales.

One of our most popular standards, we still make Ruby with the same aims we had when brewing the first batch back in March 1986: To create an ale light, crisp and refreshingly fruity. Great Western Premium 2-row and 42 pounds of Oregon-grown and processed raspberry puree is used to craft every colorful batch. Simple but delicious. Taste the original!
