Thundercone Fresh Hop Ale

Thundercone Fresh Hop Ale
Fresh (or wet) Cascade hops were frantically delivered straight from the hop fields to every McMenamins Brewery and each batch of Thundercone Fresh Hop Ale was brewed within hours of the hops being picked off of the vine. The resulting beer is an absolute fresh hop showcase. This beer starts with a smooth foundation and just a slight maltiness. The real star of this show is the fresh hops used for both flavoring and aroma. Five pounds of fresh Brewers Gold hops per barrel were added in three different additions in every batch. These fresh Brewers Gold hops overwhelm Thundercone Fresh Hop Ale with an earthy, raw hop decadence that can only come from fresh hops. It is a greener and more unadulterated flavor and aroma than comes from dried hops. The blackcurrant, fruity and spicy notes usually associated with Brewers Gold hops are still present but with an amazing fresh hop funkiness added into the mix. This beer is so refreshing and hop-filled that you may think you are dreaming but Thundercone Fresh Hop Ale is in reality a short lived dream come true.

McMenamins Irish Stout

On Nitro Tap:
McMenamins Irish Stout
This is our Halfway to Saint Patrick’s Day Seasonal and will pour exclusively on our nitro taps for the occasion. McMenamins Irish Stout is our interpretation of the internationally renowned beer style that originated in Ireland. McMenamins Irish Stout is made as traditionally as possible with our own little twist. It is a very dark, ebony-colored stout with a thick, creamy and long-lasting head. The flavor is a fantastic fusion of coffee-like roasted barley bitterness and semi-sweet chocolate. A moderate hop bitterness balances pleasingly with this hearty backbone, while tiny nitrogen bubbles enhance the sensation on your taste buds with a smooth, silky creaminess. One sip will have your head in the Emerald Isle clouds. A touch of the Irish, the blessings of St. Patrick and a pint of McMenamins Irish Stout to you!
Malts: Pale Ale, Flaked Barley, Brown, Chocolate, Roast
Hops: Chinook, US Golding
OG: 1.045  TG: 1.007  ABV: 4.90  IBU: 38  SRM: 32

Refreshin’ Gresham IPA
Brewed out in the heart of Gresham at McMenamins Highland Brewery this American IPA is loaded with hops for your consuming pleasure. A lowered bitterness makes this hop-bomb a little more accessible to the less initiated IPA drinkers, but fret not hopheads: we worked hard to make sure there’s still plenty of hop flavor to satisfy your craving. The powerhouse fruit-citrus combination that you’ll get on the nose and palate is an intricate layering of several hops, but the breadwinners are the New Zealand Green Bullets and the American Crystal hops used in the dry hopping process. Speaking of dry check out the terminal gravity. That’s about as low as a beer gets. Cheers!
Malts: Pilsen, Wheat, Caravienne 20L, Crystal 40L
Hops: Nugget, Horizon, Crystal, Cascade, U.S. Golding, Mosaic Dry Hopped: Crystal, Green Bullet
OG: 1.057  TG: 1.006  ABV: 6.58  IBU: 59  SRM: 5

Goofy Boots DIPA
An ode to an old pet rabbit that couldn’t be caged. Goofy Boots broke loose from the backyard out into the wild one fine summer back in 2005 never to be seen again, but for our brief time together my roommates and I loved that albino bunny dearly. A heavier malt body, coriander seeds, Spanish sweet orange peels, and turbinado sugar all precede the hop bill to put a massive orange citrus zest flavor in your pint. Top it off with some Columbus pellets to compliment that citrus and some Green Bullet pellets from New Zealand to throw down with the coriander on a spice addition. This is a must for Northwest hopheads.
Malts: Pilsen, Vienna, Caramel Vienna, Dextrapils
Hops: Nugget, Amarillo, Crystal, Mosaic, Horizon Dry Hopped: Green Bullet, Columbus
Adjuncts: Sweet Orange Peel, Coriander Seeds, Sugar
OG: 1.074  TG: 1.008  ABV: 8.51  IBU: 78  SRM: 9

Shoulder The Sky Porter
Dark and plenty flavorful it’s just right for end-of-the-day ruminations, contemplations, or relaxation. Dwell on the roasted malt flavors, the subtle spice from the crystal rye, and the earthy, noble hop contribution. Maybe you can pretend you’re an 18th century laborer –arguably the era of Porter’s birth as a style – brooding with your chum at a local pub where you’re finding solace in good company and a pint.
Malts: Pale Malt, Wheat, Crystal Rye 80L, Brown Malt, Roasted Barley, Black Malt, Chocolate Malt
Hops: Horizon, Tettnanger
OG: 1.054  TG: 1.013  ABV: 5.29  IBU: 46  SRM: 33

Bad Wolf Wheat
The triumphant return of our Rose Hip infused wheat ale that takes on a nice, crisp citrus and slightly fruity tone that you won’t see from hops (despite using similar descriptors). As a tribute to one of my all-time favorite Dr. Who characters with the coolest last name in the series (see my first name) I recommend this beer as something that transcends time and space: appropriate for breakfast, lunch, dinner, fighting assassin robots, and other regular activities.
Malts: Briess Red Wheat, Two-Row, Briess Caravienne 20L
Hops: U.S. Golding Additional: Rose-hips
OG: 1.045  TG: 1.005  ABV: 5.25  IBU: 11  SRM: 5

Perle Gates Blonde Ale
Nope, that’s not the light to heaven you’re seeing. It’s a fresh pint of blonde ale made with Perle hops (pronounced PER-LAY). Pale malts make up the majority of the bill, but we threw in just enough flaked barley and a dash of Crystal 40L to give you some flavor to enjoy without overdoing anything. Restrained bitterness and low key late additions of Perle hops contribute an earthy crispness reminiscent of that fall breeze as we’re ushered out of summer into the multi-colored glories of autumn in the Pacific Northwest. You might look out the window and recognize this brew’s orange hue in the trees as they are shaking off their leaves.
Malts: Pale Malt, Flaked Barley, Crystal 40L
Hops: Perle
OG: 1.054  TG: 1.007  ABV: 6.06  IBU: 27  SRM: 6

Year of The Shark
Our Perle Gates Blonde Ale infused with roasted Habaneros. Since this year’s parks and rec kickball champions “Shark Attack” hosted no fewer than three Highland Pub staff members it was obvious that we make a brew with a tip of the hat to their achievements. Much like open ocean waters this brew looks calm and soothing, but is absolutely loaded with danger. Make sure you can handle the heat before you commit. Or ask your server to blend a dash of this beer to your McMenamin favorite to give it some new life.
Malts: Pale Malt, Flaked Barley, Crystal 40L
Hops: Perle
OG: 1.054  TG: 1.007  ABV: 6.06  IBU: 27  SRM: 6

Ruby Ale

Ruby
One of our most popular standards, we still make Ruby with the same aims we had when brewing the first batch back in March 1986: To create an ale light, crisp and refreshingly fruity. Great Western Premium 2-row and 42 pounds of Oregon-grown and processed raspberry puree is used to craft every colorful batch. Simple but delicious. Taste the original!
Malts: Premium 2-row Malt
Hops: Vary
Fruit: Raspberries
OG: 1.039  TG: 1.005  ABV: 4.3

Terminator Stout
Black as the darkest night, rich as the most decadent dessert, Terminator is for the true stout lover. This is a full bodied and flavor packed ale which draws its robust complexity from kiln-baked specialty grains. Look for a wide array of toasted, chocolate, nutty and coffee-like flavors in every pint! The devoted swear by it, and it remains one of our top selling ales year after year.
Malts: Premium 2-row Malt, Munich Malt, 40L Crystal, and Black Barley
Hops: Chinook and Cascade
OG: 1.065  TG: 1.015  ABV: 6.45  IBU: 30  SRM: 35

Hammerhead
A classic Northwest pale ale and McMenamins top selling beer. This rich chestnut colored gem is a model of harmony between hops and malted barley. Hammerhead's signature Cascade hop nose and intense hopped flavor blend nicely with the caramel tones from the crystal malt. This beer has a vocal following. To run out is an unforgivable sin.
Malts: Premium 2-row Malt and 75L Crystal Malt
Hops: Cascade
OG: 1.056 TG 1.010  ABV: 5.93  IBU: 44  SRM: 11

Hard Cider

Edgefield Hard Apple Cider

Edgefield Blackberry Hard Apple Cider

Edgefield Blackberry Hard Apple Cider
Dark garnet in color, the aromas of fresh blackberries burst from the glass. The slightly tannic and tart blackberry component is balanced out by a small amount of residual sugar, while the fermented apple rounds out the mid-palate and finish.
ABV: 6.5%
