Ale & Cider On Tap
Sleepy Hollow Nut Brown
It’s the time of year to start savoring the potion of your choice to warm the bones and soothe the soul. And one can’t think of anything better than the McMenamins classic seasonal brew, Sleepy Hollow Nut Brown. This longtime favorite has a chestnut color and medium body that will cast an otherworldly spell over you. The complex malt character, well balanced with Chinook and US Golding hops, will have you walking in a continual reverie. Legend has it that Ichabod Crane downed a few Nut Brown Ales listening to local ghost tales and scary legends at the Van Tassel merry-making party before his fateful trip home. Be watchful and clear-headed on your way home lest you begin to grow fanciful, see shapes and shadows in the night and hear things in the howling wind. It may just be your imagination running away with you or it very well may be the Headless Horseman on his fire-breathing black stallion following you!
Malts: Pale Ale, Flaked Barley, Munich, C15 & C120 Crystal, Chocolate, Roast
Hops: Chinook, US Golding
OG: 1.050 TG: 1.011 ABV: 5.03 IBU: 15 SRM: 18
Common Cents IPA
With an abundance of Centennial hops in storage I was more than happy to put them to use in this delicious brew. While we gave the Centennials some hop buddies to play with in the boiler kettle make no mistake about it: this American “C-Hop” shines through the strongest. Use all of your senses to enjoy this brew. Lean in close to the glass and hear the effervescent whisper, observe the beautiful dark straw colors, smell dank, citrus with a flutter of passion fruit in the background. Then taste a fine bitterness after you feel the cold fizz of the beer bubble away in your mouth. Mmm, that’s good IPA.
Malts: Pilsen, Rolled Oats, Crystal 15L, Crystal 75L
Hops: Chinook, Simcoe, Crystal, Sterling, Centennial
Dry Hop: Centennial
OG: 1.057 TG: 1.010 ABV: 6.06 IBU: 57 SRM: 6
Bad Wolf Wheat
A Rose Hip infused wheat ale that takes on a nice, crisp citrus and slightly fruity tone that you won’t see from hops (despite using similar descriptors). As a tribute to one of my all-time favorite Dr. Who characters with the coolest last name in the series (see my first name) I recommend this beer as something that transcends time and space: appropriate for breakfast, lunch, dinner, fighting assassin robots, and other regular activities.
Malts: White Wheat, Two-Row, Munich
Hops: U.S. Golding Additional: Rose-hips
OG: 1.050 TG: 1.005 ABV: 5.25 IBU: 11 SRM: 5
Party Hat Porter
Party Hat Porter will get you there. Dark crystal malts provide a smooth caramel sweetness. Blackprinz and chocolate malt offer a smooth roasty malt profile. 25lbs of cocoa nibs and rum soaked orange peel add hints of chocolate and citrus. If you’re pre-funking, tailgating, or chillin’ like a million Sicilian civilians, this beer is for you.
Malts: 2-row Malt, C135/165, Rolled Oats, Blackprinz, Chocolate.
Hops: Nugget, Chinook, Golding.
Adjuncts: Rum Soaked Orange Peel, Rum Soaked Cocoa Nibs.
OG: 1.064 TG: 1.012 ABV: 6.71 IBU: 21 SRM: 31
Highland Smoked Porter
A lovely, seasonally appropriate porter for your palate. Here we have a clean American porter with just a hint of smoke swirling in the midst of dark, roasty goodness. We went old school adding some Brown malt (a once very common ingredient in porters that made up as much as 100% of the beer), and tossed in some flaked barley to enrich the mouthfeel and flavor with malty goodness. Perle and Tettnanger hops round it out with earthy, spicy aromas and tastes. A cheers to you and yours.
Malts: Pale malt, Flaked Barley, Smoked Malt, Brown malt, Roasted Barley, Chocolate malt
Hops: Perle, Tettnanger
OG: 1.053 TG: 1.015 ABV: 4.90 IBU: 32 SRM: 28
One of our most popular standards, we still make Ruby with the same aims we had when brewing the first batch back in March 1986: To create an ale light, crisp and refreshingly fruity. Great Western Premium 2-row and 42 pounds of Oregon-grown and processed raspberry puree is used to craft every colorful batch. Simple but delicious. Taste the original!
Malts: Premium 2-row Malt
OG: 1.039 TG: 1.005 ABV: 4.3
Black as the darkest night, rich as the most decadent dessert, Terminator is for the true stout lover. This is a full bodied and flavor packed ale which draws its robust complexity from kiln-baked specialty grains. Look for a wide array of toasted, chocolate, nutty and coffee-like flavors in every pint! The devoted swear by it, and it remains one of our top selling ales year after year.
Malts: Premium 2-row Malt, Munich Malt, 40L Crystal, and Black Barley
Hops: Chinook and Cascade
OG: 1.065 TG: 1.015 ABV: 6.45 IBU: 30 SRM: 35
A classic Northwest pale ale and McMenamins top selling beer. This rich chestnut colored gem is a model of harmony between hops and malted barley. Hammerhead's signature Cascade hop nose and intense hopped flavor blend nicely with the caramel tones from the crystal malt. This beer has a vocal following. To run out is an unforgivable sin.
