Highland Brewery

Established: June 1988
2012 Brewery Production: 123 batches • 1476.50 kegs • 185,752 pints

The first post-Prohibition brewpub established in Gresham, Oregon, the Highland opened in 1988. Its 1,000th brew was the mighty Mjölnir — described as a potent 'Hammerhead of the Gods'.  Fox Tail Pale was a favorite crisply bitter, reddish IPA that debuted here in 1993.

These days Highland brewer Dan Black steadies the mash-paddle and creates such malted wonders as Jet Pack Porter and an Imperial Purple Haze, a brawny purple-colored strong ale infused with boysenberries which has developed a vocal and enthusiastic crowd of followers.
