McMenamins East Vancouver
Tega Chijavadze can be found wearing his brewer boots in East Vancouver and McMenamins on the Columbia in Washington. Though brewing since 2012, he has also been a server and bartender at McMenamins Kennedy School, Crystal Ballroom and Grand Lodge.
Tega refers to his pre-brewer jobs as "helping make the world go round." He's originally from Georgia (the country) and spent years working around the world. Once he found the beautiful Pacific Northwest, he planted his roots. A pint (or two) at the Grand Lodge led to his start at McMenamins.
The only thing certain is change. Tega lives these words by creating new flavors for his brews through fruit infusions. He is most proud of a Honigweizen and Mango Tango Pale, but finds pride in every beer.
Family, friends, and a love for his home country are Tega's source of inspiration. When he's not brewing, he can be found wearing an infectious smile and exploring the Northwest. He loves beer and has dreams of opening a brewery in his home country. Tega suggests future brewers persevere, and learn to not rush; to stay clean; and to think ahead.
