Soaking Pool

Hours: Daily, 8 a.m. 'til 11 p.m.
Hotel & Ruby's Spa guests only.

The soaking pool, set behind Ruby's Spa and open to hotel and spa guests only,  meanders and flows, providing hidden spots and tributaries for those in need of a quiet moment. The pool is filled with soft, buoyant saltwater that's free of chemical treatments (much better for the environment) and heated to a comfortable 104 degrees.

Plumber-turned-pipe artist Jeff Allen (whose eclectic metalwork sculptures are found throughout McMenamins' properties) has truly outdone himself -- giant pipe-flowers bloom on small islands throughout, with flames blazing from their metal heads. Pull a chain and a shower of warm saltwater cascades down off the flower's leaves.

A surrounding fence is topped with brightly colored metal orbs, crafted by Architectural Ironworks and painted by our cadre of McMenamins artists. The whole place inspires an Alice-in-Wonderland kind of magic.

Take a dip before a treatment, stroll over for an early morning refresher or perhaps unwind in the evening before retiring to one of Edgefield's comfy guestrooms.

If you'd enjoy a glass of wine or perhaps a pot of tea during your soak, the tiny Tea House Bar opens up directly onto the soaking pool patio. Hours are seasonal.

Bathing suits are required; locker rooms are provided. Guests must be 18 years old or must be accompanied by an adult.

Please note: The soaking pool is reserved for guests with overnight hotel reservations or spa appointments only.
